The My 420 Tours team went on a high adventure to Denver’s all-new Archery Games. Here’s what happened.
When we’re not running Denver’s best cannabis tours and experiences, the team at My 420 Tours likes to go find fun things to do so we can give our guests awesome recommendations. And also so we can get out of the office and throw things at each other.
This past month, we had the chance to check out the all-new Archery Games in Denver. So we put on our gym shorts and headed over to their location in Arvada to see what it’s all about.
The short answer: totally worth it. Here’s everyone’s thoughts on their favorite part of the archery session, the biggest surprise, who this is recommended for, and whether or not they’d go again.
Nick Brogna, Account Manager
What was your favorite part of the ARCHERY GAMES experience?
I love learning new
What was the most surprising part of the experience? Even being relatively fit and athletic, I was surprised at how sore I was the following day… and the day after that. Apparently, in the heat of battle, you don’t realize that you’re doing body weight air squats every time you pop up around a bunker. Walking up and down stairs was pretty challenging for the next few days.
Who is this good for? People who used to play paintball but got sick of running.
Patrick Bailey, Cannabis Chef
Favorite part? My most favorite part about the Archery Games was how very easy it was to understand how to play. Also,
What was surprising? You get to choose how athletic you would like to be. It is easier sometimes to try to be a
Who is this good for? I would recommend this style of activity for just about all kinds of interests. Sometimes you just gotta let loose and give it a shot!! It’s easy to get into it and find your niche in the game. It’s great for team-building because the playing field is pretty level. Everyone has the same type of bow and arrow. It’s a great equalizer!
Would you do it again? Absolutely, it was a blast. It is good exercise, not to mention a great way to hone in a great skill that is useful and recreational.
Austen Regehr, Office Manager
What was your favorite part? My favorite part of the game was the variety. We played for about two hours total but I’d say we played over 10 different games which had different objectives and rules. Some games are team-oriented like dodge ball (if you catch the arrow then another team member could join back in). Some games were individual in nature. So in these
What was the most surprising part of the experience? The most surprising part of the games
Who is this good for? Perfect for bro’s night or girls night out with a group that’s looking for more than the usual pool tables, darts, bowling or any other one of the same old bar games. If you go during the week they will let you bring your own alcohol but they do not sell it. Also great for kids birthday parties, bachelor parties, or those looking to join a league just for fun. Also great for company team building events!
Would you do this again? I would do this again because I had a blast playing. The more people in your party the better the game is. It’s not that much fun with four people but with six or eight or more it becomes an all-out war. Arrows flying in every direction, your teammates hiding behind barriers, heckling from the sidelines — this game has it all.
Justin Schaaf, Hardware Manager
Favorite part? I would have to say my favorite part of the archery games was the teambuilding aspect of our visit. But as far as The Archery Games itself goes, my favorite part was the variety of archery games to play.
Most surprising part? For me the most to surprising part of the experience
Who is this good for? Personally, anybody could do this. People who work out, people who like archery, people who are looking for a new activity to do, literally anyone could do it. It’s great for bashes and occasions, whether it’s your 10th birthday, your 21st birthday, or your 30th birthday. Anyone can party here.
Would you do this again? I want to do this like once a month, if not more! Get a great workout in and practice my archery skills. Nothing better than that in my eyes. I will be doing this again.
Tyler Stocker, Tour Guide
What was your favorite part? The different number of games was great. I liked them all but saw some fun potential in the Engineer and 3v3 games. You could really craft some fun strategies with your team with a little bit of thought. I also really liked all the silly poses people would make when they tried to dodge an arrow. Some real Matrix stuff going on. With little to no experience and 10 minutes of practice, everyone was deadly. Great way to put everyone on the same level.
What was the most surprising part? I found myself thinking, why am I so tired? I’m only running 15 feet to get an arrow and then standing there trying to shoot people. Why am I so tired? Also, that turf will cut you up. I would definitely wear jeans next time.
Who is this good for? I’d send everyone from a bachelor party to a 5-year-old’s birthday party, and even let them play together. I bet the kids would destroy the drunk guys.
Would you do this again? Yes. Gets the heart pumping, and was a ton of fun with the
